In order to prioritize the aid provided to the Republic of Moldova, the Government jointly with the FAO develops and approves the Country Framework Programs. The current program for 2016-2019 is setting priorities and outputs aligned with national policies for the agriculture sector, in particular the National Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Moldova (2014- 2020). Priority areas include a focus on increased competitiveness of the agri-food sector, sustainable agriculture and rural development, sustainable management of natural resources and disaster risk management.

In recent years, FAO has granted support to the Republic of Moldova through 15 projects worth nearly 2 mln. USD. In 5 other regional projects, our country was a beneficiary. It is about various areas of assistance and tangible results at the level of food safety, plant and animal health, drought protection, and new policies and skills for farmers and authorities. In particular, we appreciate FAO support for encouraging new irrigation technologies.
